Physical & Health Education

The philosophy of our Physical & Health Education program is for our students to become physically active and create a healthy lifestyle now and for the future. Our physical education curriculum uses objectives from the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards and the IB Middle Years Programme. Our PE program is designed for our students to develop skills and knowledge that promote a life-long commitment to health and personal fitness by providing challenging activities & a variety of international minded sports from around the world.

For example, the LXMS PE program focuses heavily on reflection on a day to day basis. Thought provoking questions/prompts/specific exit questions are given during and at the end of each unit. This provides insight for the whole group & motivates areas within for each student.

LXMS is also a Unified Champion School providing an education & sports-based strategy powered by an engaged youth community that increases athletic & leadership opportunities for students with & without intellectual  disabilities, while creating communities of acceptance for all.
