As an IB science program, we incorporate an interdisciplinary approach to science in a global context. We are able to use skills developed in language arts, social studies, and math to investigate earth & space, life, and physical sciences. Our classes utilize engaging technology through simulations, virtual labs, and cooperative and hands-on learning to make science come alive! Students will develop skills to think critically and creatively to solve real-world scientific problems and discover the relationship between them and the world around them. Throughout middle school there will be opportunities for students to explore science in and out of the classroom through the science fair, field trips, guest speakers, local mosquito education program, and more!
Through meaningful collaboration, students access higher-order thinking skills to strengthen their ability to make connections between the science curriculum and the real world. The Sciences are also proud to offer specific sections for our gifted students.
