Subject Area Overviews

Almost all classes at Lexington are part of one of the eight Middle Years Programme (MYP) subject areas. Each of these subject areas draws from a set of shared concepts and global contexts to help students understand the transferable nature of learning. While not all of the units students will participate in are interdisciplinary, it is important for our Lynx to realize how interconnected all of their classes truly are.

Below is a list of the eight subject areas by which our classes are organized. The subject area names are also links to their subject area overviews. In these overviews, you will find information about what is being studied, including concepts and global contexts, assessment criteria, and topics. Unit plans and these overviews are active and reflective at Lexington. Our teachers follow the same process we ask of our students: ask questions, take action, reflect, and repeat. As such, there will be changes during the course of the year. While there may be changes over the course of the year, these overviews should give you a solid understanding of the academic program at Lexington.
