8th GRADE Universal Studios “GRAD NITE” TRIP

Parents and Students,
The excitement is building and the trip is quickly approaching. Following is some important information about the trip. Please read carefully.
The student’s ticket includes a ticket to the event (both parks), a charter bus seat, t-shirt, and a dinner voucher for inside the park.
May 18, 2018 is a regular school day. Buses will depart Lexington Middle School after lunch. Buses will return at approximately 3:00 AM the next morning to Lexington Middle School. There will not be any drop offs at any other locations. Parents must provide transportation home from Lexington Middle School at 3:15 AM. Students will not be allowed to walk or ride a bike home. Students will not be allowed to ride home with other students without the attached form signed by a parent.
Chaperones will accompany students to Universal Studios.
Students who receive referrals for Level II or III offenses from January 31st through May 18th, that result in OSS on any of those dates, including the day the day of the trip, will not be allowed to attend this event.
Administration reserves the right to remove students from this trip based on discipline referrals. Refunds will be issued only if the seat can be filled. All students are held accountable to the Lexington Middle School Discipline Policy and Code of Conduct. In the unfortunate event that any student engages in illegal activity at Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure, their parents or guardians will be notified by telephone and will be required to drive to Universal Studios to pick them up. There will be no exceptions to this policy.
FOOD/ SPENDING MONEY:
A dinner voucher will be provided for students to use inside the park. Students may want to bring extra spending money for additional snacks and souvenirs. Students must keep all personal articles with them on the bus, as the school will not be opened upon return.
PROHIBITED ON THE BUS:
Bag checks will be done before students are permitted on the bus. The following is not permitted on the buses:
Candy, gum, opened beverages, any beverages other than water, any food item that is not a dry snack, Bluetooth speakers, selfie sticks, body sprays, and aerosol products.
WE WILL BE RETURNING AT APPROXIMATLEY AT 3:15 A.M. ON MAY 19th
PLEASE BE PROMPT WHEN PICKING UP YOUR STUDENT.

Gradventure Dress Code
All LXMS students are expected to wear their provided Gradventure t-shirt. All students will be provided with an approved drawstring backpack. This will be the only bag allowed off the buses.
- LXMS provided Gradventure t-shirt
- Must not be altered
- Jeans, khakis, skirts, capris or bermuda shorts
- Shorts and skirts must be between fingertips and knee
- Pants must be secured at waist
- Comfortable shoes (including tennis shoes, dress sandals, boots and flip-flops
- We strongly recommend wearing tennis shoes with socks
Unacceptable Attire*/Not Ok*
- Clothing with holes, rips, tears, or shredding of any kind
- Accessories that may be used as weapons (chains, spiked collars or belts, wallets with chains, spikes or sharp edges, sharp objects, jewelry, pendants or charms larger than 2 inches.)
- Visible undergarments
- Tank tops or undershirts
- Clothing that exposes excessive portions of the skin that may be viewed as inappropriate at a school function (e.g., bikini tops and bottoms)
- Short Shorts
- Area codes displayed on clothing or accessories.
*Universal Orlando Resort team members and Gradventure Event staff have the right to refuse admission to anyone whom they deem to be dressed inappropriately for the event and /or not in compliance with these guidelines, and will continue to enforce this dress code throughout the event.
