We have a lot of information that we would like to share with you. The 6th grade Pre-School Open House will be on Wednesday, August 8th from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. The 6th grade overview session will begin promptly at 5:00 p.m. in the gym. The 7th and 8th grade session will be from 5:45 – 6:30 p.m. beginning in the gym. The student hours for Lexington Middle will be from 9:35 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Lexington Middle offers a fee-based before school program to provide morning supervision if needed. If you are interested in participating in this program, information and a registration form are located on the Lexington Middle website at lxm.leeschools.net. Please fill out the registration form and return it at the Pre-School Open House in August or to the front office. The morning program will be each student school day from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Students will not be permitted on campus prior to 9:00 a.m. if they are not enrolled in the before school program. At 9:00 a.m. all students are welcome and must report directly to the cafeteria. Your child will be supervised until the 9:35 a.m. start time.
Teacher hours are 8:50 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher during these hours. To schedule a parent conference, please call 454-6130 to speak with Ms. Hewett.
The 2018-2019 schedule is as follows: Students will have an alternating day 10-period schedule. Students will have five classes each day. Information on this schedule will be presented at the Pre-School Open House in August. Lexington also offers a unique music program. We will not be offering the traditional concert band program. Our Innovative Music Program will offer Beginning Band (to introduce students to numerous instruments), Intermediate Band (which includes Jazz, Popular Music and Instrument Ensemble) and Orchestra.
All Math, Language Arts, Reading, Social Studies and Science courses will be assigned. All exploratory courses will be assigned based on availability and IB requirements.
We are very fortunate to have Lee County Parks and Recreation attached to our facility. Parks and Rec. offers an after school supervision program with many activities until 6:00 p.m. You may register your child for this program by contacting Wa-Ke-Hatchee Park at 432-2154. Parents must pick up students by 6:00 p.m.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact the administration at 454-6130. We look forward to seeing you at Open House. Your child’s schedule and supply lists will be available at the Open House or you may access the supply lists for each grade level and dress code at lxm.leeschools.net.
