Lexington Middle School now has a new 5,000 watt solar panel
array that will feed electricity back into the school. LXMS is one
of only five Lee County public schools to be chosen as the site of this FPL
funded solar photovoltaic station, and this array is the largest of its type on
a District school site.
The students and staff will be able to remotely
track electric power generation via wireless or internet access, an opportunity
that will be an engaging jumping off point for lessons on green energy and
resource conservation.
